Our History

Brother’s Keeper was founded in 1970 to serve the poor of Blessed Trinity Catholic Church with toys at Christmas. Soon after, the thrift store and the soup kitchen were opened.

Brother’s Keeper soon grew into a fully operational outreach ministry serving all members of our community, regardless of race, creed, or ethnic origin.

Brother’s Keeper constantly works to help our clients learn to help themselves. We partner with many other outreach agencies in Marion County to collaboratively help people become self-sufficient.

how are we funded

Sales of donated goods in our thrift store covers our overhead cost. This allows us to proudly say that every dollar donated to Brother’s Keeper is used to directly help the poor and homeless.

Brother’s Keeper accept donations of furniture, appliances, household goods, clothing, shoes, books, linens, towels and more.  Please Contact Us if you are interested in learning more about how to help.
